hunting bear with 308

i will be hunting black bear next year in pa and im am wonderin if a 308 loaded with federal 180 grain trophy bonded tip will work

If I was carrying my .308 the 180gr bullet would be my choice.  For Black Bear the .308 is totally adiquate.
