700 ML question
« on: January 12, 2010, 02:08:11 PM »
Couple of questions.I just got a 700ML. As it sits now it is set up for 209 primers. Due to the regulations in the state I live in I'll need to change it back to percussion caps. Is the nipple proprietary to Remington, or may I use any with the proper threads? and, Is it necessary to change out the striker when switching back?
Thanks,
Z

You can change to a 1/4x28 nipple of your choice..  The Remington is just a better fit to the Rem wrench..

If you have the remington conversion - you can use their hammer... If you have The Canadian conversion it will still work but it will also possibly poke a hole in the cap after the cap is set off...

Keep shooting muzzleloaders - they are a blast....
