Hillbill............

I watch and sometimes post in a "Savage Collectors" forum on another web-site.  There are several very knowledgeable "members" of the forum who are truly "authorities" on the Savage Model 99 lever-action rifle... and there has not been ANY talk whatsoever of a renewed manufacturing of the Model 99 Savage rifle by Savage or any rifle similiar to it by any other firearms manufacturer.

I think if such a welcomed event were in the "works", the many contributors of the above-named forum would know about it and something would have been posted about it.

Sadly, like so many other fine things, it is generally accepted that the Savage Model 99 rifle, a true American icon, is just too expensive to manufacture in these days of the "throw-away" society of instant gratification.

thanks for the info ron! although it does make me sad. they brought back the win lever in .405, i would think a savage in a usable cal. like .308 or even one of the new short fatties would be a bigger seller. but then im not a corporate exec.
