Cooey Mod 39
« on: January 17, 2010, 05:53:09 AM »
Cooey Mod 39 the Canadian Classic who has one?
Winchester took over the company I think sometime in the late 60s but my Cooey is still a Cooey.
Mine is even more accurate than my Browning T bolt!or Marlin 39. Very reliable little gun only thing that can go wrong with them is the extractor.
I am going off memory here but mine was given to me when I was 6 or 7 years old and it had what looked like a trailer ball as a counter wight on the forearm of the stock wish I still had that ball for the gun, as I have dusted the old girl off and it is now the wifes gun lol,out of more than 30 rifles she wanted that one.
On a side note I never had a misfire with Rimfire ammo as a kid but the newer rimfire ammo I have, me thinks quality control has gone down hill? This is with all of my rimfires from pistol to rifle, the only brand I never had this with was CCI maybe lucky? I do have some old C.I L target ammo I hoard for day's when I have to show up my friends with there $1000.00+  German Target Rifle .22s,My $15.00 list price in the old Marshel Wells cat mod 39 holds it's own very well!
Walk softly and carry a big gun!
