Does anyone else shoot these lever guns besides me?  My Bullard is a deluxe 45-70.

My 1886 Winchester is a 40-82WCF, and it gets shot! (Circa 1887) I call it a kitchen carbine. Someone long before I got it hacked the barrel and magazine to 20". I love it! Makes me wish it were nickel steel so I could really get into the smokeless powder we have available today. I keep it around 1500fps with 260gr+/- cast bullets. Mine runs .409 and thrives on the same bullets I use in my 41Mag at .410 My Marlin 1894 41 Mag will actually run higher velocities with the same bullets because of its higher operating pressure. However, the 40-82 is a blast to shoot and relatively easy to handload. The sites are full buckhorn and my aged eyes see them as a ghost ring! PLUS, it's a piece of history.

Do you mean Bullard or Ballard? I have a 32-40 Bullard SS and several Ballard SS's 32-40,38-55, 40-63 and 45-70. Thay all still do their job if I do mine right.
