advice on how to hunt bobcats???
« on: January 19, 2010, 03:07:24 PM »
Any suggestions on how to call em in or bait em... or both?
I recently met a new hunting buddy & we both want to coyote & bobcat hunt.
I have never heard of any way to hunt bobcats intentionaly.
I have only seen big game hunting shows where they got lucky & shot one walking by.
Is there a specific way to hunt them?
Any specific call to use for bobcats that might also work on coyote as well,
like a dying jack or mouse in destress call?

When I hunt mice I use a cheese in destress call & it works every time! ::) ;) :D ;D
The sound of a crisp cheddar works best! ::)

I am looking into this topic on web sites but would rather hear some advice from those with experience & maybe get a few tips on what to do & what not to do.

I hunt them the same way I do yotes---It usually ends up being a mixed bag.  A squeaker works very well to bring them in if you see them at a distance.
Remember to be patient, bobcats usually always sneak in and usually take a lot longer to respond than yotes.
Yesterday is history--tomorrow is a mystery--today is a gift!---That is why they call it the present!

i killed one this morning before daylight over a turkey and deer scraps    i've saw him several times working on the deer carcus but couldnt get a shot     foxes are there and i shot a coyote bout a week ago on the deer
no advice but they will come to the bait sometime or another     just like anything else     you have to be there when it happens
maybe baitin them and getting them close and then calling would work
good luck on it though and hope you kill some biggin's
