Me thinks everyone has been real busy of late. I know I have. I have been hoping either you or Capt. Hamp would stir things up or get into a fight or something. I may have ta start throwing rocks ta get some attention! :-D

Contrary to reports of my demise, it was my computer that was on the "critically ill - not expected to live" list.  However, as a result of extrodinary efforts by a local shooting buddy and gun nut who also performs surgery on computers, Ol' Hamp is finally back in camp.  Anticipated having to play catchup with discussion topics, but it appears others must have had computer proplems also.

First day of deer season yesterday was hot and muggy, with wind out of the SE.  Saw plenty of deer, but no shooters.  Bucks are definitely chasing does, inspite of the heat.  No cooling relilef in sight.

Anyone as old as "Old" williamlayton is bound to be getting forgetful, and should  soon not be able to remember how to log on to the internet.  Really hard pressed to figure out whether that would be a "blessing" or a tragedy.   Guess it would be awful quiet around here without him - remember back in the spring/summer when we thought he had lost computer privileges?  Yes, the more I think about it the more I'm convinced that this forum without "Old" williamlayton would be like Roy without Trigger, Tonto without Scout, or The Lone Ranger without Silver (and any perceived connection between "Old" williamlayton and a horse's rear end is unintended and purely coincidental).
