The kids got what they deserved. I am guessing alcohol was involved
gonna edit this ot add
I have no sympathy for kids that throw anything at cars or trucks. The police calling the snowballs missiles is a bit stiff

How dang rediculous.  Why don't those harrisonburg cops come north and find out what real snowballs are like then we can kick their butts back to va so they can arrest more college students.  How stupid - felonious snowball throwing and calling snowballs missles.

Maybe we should simply stop the snowplows and let harrisonburg get permanently buried.  Should take care of the stupidity factor.

Those two got what they deserved?  Are you nuts?  Maybe the handle hairtrigger is mroe appropriate than we think.  You should stay south, or some place where there isn't snow if you don't think kids throw snowballs, and cop cars have always been fair game in the snow states - most cops usually get out of their cars and throw snowballs back.  Unless they are from the south where a snowball is a missle.  For the luv of gawd.  What stupidity.

Sounds similar to the silly incident a month or more back that I think was in DC where the off duty cop pulled his gun on a group of kids having a snowball fight.

What the hell has this country come to when having a snowball fight has become a felony. Surely they have more important things for the cops to do than harrass teens enjoying the snow. Even here in the south on the rare occasions we see snow kids make and throw snowballs.

Now if ya wet them and freeze them and make them into balls of solid ice I can see the point but if you are just out there grabbing a handful of snow and making a snowball and tossing it making an issue of that just shows the stupidity this country has fallen into these days.

A snowball can break a windshield of a car driving by.
A driver can react by swerving out of the way, maybe into an oncomming car or truck.

Wow, a felony...

I am 100% against the young men throwing these at cars, but their parents should be the ones tanning their hides for doing things like this years ago.  Too bad parents are an endangered species these days.  Maybe they would have grown up a little better.

When I was a kid 10 or more of us use to ambush cars and let them have it with snow balls. One day we let loose at a unmarked police car. When we realized they were police we stopped immediately. The two cops got out of their car and started throwing snow balls back at us. That's how it was over 50 years ago.
I'm surprised they didn't charge these kids with terroristic threats and send them to Gitmo.
