Few pix from my yard
« on: January 14, 2010, 05:03:26 AM »
Just a little fix to get you thru the winter dull-drums:

Out the front door this morning

Out the back door in the early fall (Sept - maybe Aug)

Well Cowboybart, the Whitetail does and yearlings that hang out in my yard hardly compare to the herd of Mule deer that hang out in yours. ;)

Excellent pictures. Thanks for sharing them.

Kinda' reminds me of a funny incident.  My baby brother scrambled and sold stuff to get up money for a lease.  Then he bought a trail cam, and decided to try it out in his back yard, to see if it was ok, etc...........first batch of pic. were of a 12 point 20' from his house.........

Nice herd of deer there, save some for later.......

I usually only see does and fawns.  When I saw the bucks I grabbed the camera.
I'm in NW WY - 'bout 40 N of Cody - 4 miles S of MT line.
My freezer was so full this fall that I didn't even get a deer tag this year!  Maybe that is why there are a good bit around ;D

That would be me :(
The joys of being unemployed - means I get to do all the work that normally I would hire a teenager to do.  Hope my 43 year old back will hold out until all the wood is split.

If I lived closer I'd offer to cut all your wood for 1 deer. Man, all I see out my door are cars driving by. Backyard a "little" better...golf carts.

Now all I need is an address & I'm there! ;)

Looks like you dont have to go far to hunt.

any closer & soon those deer will be dropping antlers on your front porch!

nice pics! always appreciated!

Oddly enough I never shoot the ones on my property.  I usually go 8-10 miles away and shoot them on my former employer's ranch.
The ones in the pix are almost like pets ;D

Thats even better! I am the same way but it started when I began to study the deer I had planned to hunt but when deer season came around it was either hunt the deer that I have spent so much time with or find a different place to hunt.
I decided to hunt the deer that I have grown fond of because of my chances of success, I knew the area like the back of my hand & if it wasnt me hunting them it would be every other person with a tag in my zone.
I kinda didnt have a choice on that. :-\
I put all my eggs in one basket.

If I had deer that close to my property I wouldnt hunt them either.
If I did I wouldnt have them around to enjoy any more.
