Decoy anchor weights for raw material?

I have two questions for all you bullet casters. First are waterfowl decoy anchor weights a suitable alloy for bullet casting, and second what is a good price to pay for them? The reason I am asking is that tonight on my way home from work I stopped at a Farm supply store and noticed they were clearancing all there hunting stuff. They have several packages of decoy weights marked down to what figures out to about 85 to 95 cent per pound. Is this a good price and should I go back and clean off the shelf, or can I do better elsewhere?

At 90 cents per pound I would keep looking.
No way to know what they are cast from. Could be pure lead, could be wheel weight, maybe something else.

Commercial weights are likely to be pure or nearly pure lead but you just really never know. I agree that's too high to pay for an unkown alloy.

most around here are made by the fisherman and they use the same thing we do. Wheel weights

Zinc mixed in with wheel weights will probably make a pretty good decoy anchor.
Not so good for bullets.
