politically correct phrase
« on: January 19, 2010, 04:04:26 PM »
As I grow older, I am going to try and be more tolerant, and less prejidicial. There is a phrase, in the military, that goes, jerry rigged. Well, not having been in the military, and using a term with a much nastier termanology, and being degrading to a race of people, I will refrain from using that term again. I will now use the term, presidential solution. gypsyman
We keep trying peace, it usually doesn't work!!Remember(12/7/41)(9/11/01) gypsyman

I am not, at all, a politically correct person.  However, I like your "presidential solution"!

Actually the term "jerry rigged" is a bastardization of the old nautical term "jury rigged" which refers to a temporary fix to a problem with the tools and materials at hand.  Like a jury rigged mast to replace one that was damaged, allowing the ship to get in for repairs.
