unlimited corporate donations to political campaigns
« on: February 20, 2010, 07:01:21 AM »
Unlimited Coorporate Donations. This further removes us from one citizen, one vote. Campaigns with the most money most often win. The internet was allowing individuals with a good platform to be able to build a coalition of support from individuals makeing small donations. The corporations now have the power to overwhelm the voice of the voters. The coorporations have been granted the right of "free speach" through the dollar when they shouldn't be considered citizens, allowed to be voters voters or especially to be treated as individuals with constitutional rights.

The USA was incorporated in 1871, and when 51% of the citizens had SSN numbers in 1933, DBA USA  was ratified.
None of you have those rights any more. Your name in capitol letters next to your SSN, you are just a small corp under the jurisdiction of a larger corp, and have no individual right.

So industrial corps which are bigger than you, just got the right to out vote you.

Pres Kennedy was the last non corp president who wanted to put us back on the constitutional track.

You know where that got him

There is a downside to all our freedoms. We have to deal with it to remain free.

The pen might be mightier than the sword but the dollar is the most fearsome weapon of all.
We claim to be a free people but it is only an illusion brought about because our bonds are loose enough to let us struggle.

Much of big business (corporations) back both the Republicans and Dumbycrats as they try to cover both bases.  This cannot be said about unions and other oganizations, i.e. the trial lawyers, that basically are an extension of the Dumbycrat Party.  This is also true of the lame stream media.  And anyone here who doesn't think that is a very big deal is kidding themselves.

Corporations contribute out of the need for self preservation and if they are successful they keep people working.  Unions and other groups that back the Dumbycrats are more interested in controlling government to protect and satisfy their special agendas that aren't necessarily beneficial to our freedoms and liberties.

Of course these are generalities, but given a choice, I'll take my chances with corporations before I'll trust this country to the liberal media, or poeple like George Soros.

Magooch....corps contribute to both parties because they are the same in the end and they rent/own the government. One only has to look at the profitability of corps and further agrandizement of wealth in the top 1% the last 40 years, which blows out of the water your theory of corps under attack by libbers. Most recent example is HC so-called reform being written by various HC insurance corps...why do you think HC stock is up and up;;;because they're under attack by libbers? Hardly! If not trusting $orus or the libber media, you could always invest in Rush-bull and Hatchet Hannity.

.

..TM7

I didn't say that corporations are under attack by the libbers; in many cases they surely are.  But I stongly disagree that the Dumbycrats are the same as the Republicans

what  is the difference  between  limiting
what a corpoation can  donate
and  telling  the NRA  what they can donate

.
Corporations are the government...that the people relinquished and were conned out of.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
corporations/government..one and the same  according  to you
so  you  think corporations [government]  should limit  donations  form  large groups  with lots of cash
sounds  like your are  all for  giving  more power  to government /corporations
when drugs are outlawed only out laws will have drugs
OBAMACARE....the biggest tax hike in the  history of mankind
free choice and equality  can't co-exist
coorporations contribute money to get a return, what they want,and this campaign reform will ensure the process works even better for them, corporations getting a better return. The federal Judges approveing it is no different than state or federal congress members approveing thier own salary increases.
 The Federal Judges are influenced by money in makeing thier decisions, they agreed by pole. Corporate domination is supported by both parties as demonstrated by NAFTA and GATT. Both parties pushed them through. One party started the move and the other took power and finished it. Banking reform, both parties supported it. Same thing with the bail out, the Republicans started it before leaving office and the Democrats have continued the program. Most of the money has benefitted corporations and not individual borrowers that made bad decisions. The corporations did it by plan, got federal bailout money, and are getting bonuses rather than jail time for being successful at it.
It stinks. We need to dump them all and start over.
then  boycott  corporations  that  donate contrary  to your beliefs
what  about  unions  should they be limited??
well  thats  up to  the government/corporations
what about  the NRA...?  up to the government/corporations to decide
i was in the carpenters union for  12  years
i resigned  and withdrew ALL  my retirement  money
as  protest  over  the union  support  of bill klinton  and democrats in general
let  freedom  prevail
and  don't do business with  liberals/democrats
POWER  TO BOYCOTT.......USE IT
but  don't give  more power  to  government/corporations
