H&R, Remington International Single Shot, or Rossi? Why?
« on: January 27, 2010, 06:43:17 AM »
It's tax time and now I am lookin for a new toy, I have a NEF 12ga, for squirrels/rabbits and just got a Weatherby vanguard 30-06 hogs/deer. So this would be my walking woods/canoe gun.
I was at my local pawn shop a saw some deals(?) on a Rossi 308/12ga used wood stock no bag $155,
2 Remington Internationals a 308 and 223 ether one $169,
Or I could just hold out and get a H&R 357mag combo off line for $100 more plus shiping and fees.
The reasons I like the Rossis and the Remingtons are price and open sights. The H&R is more and I would have to get open sights put on or buy another scope.
I have never owned a Rossi or Remington so whats the goods and bads.
Thanks
John G.

I would and did get the H&R 45colt BC. Being Remington now owns H&R I don't know if they will keep importing the cheaper guns

I would hold out until I found a used H&R handi in 30-30., 357 Mag, 44 Mag, or the 45 Colt. they all use to have iron sights, and they are made in the US.
Once  you own a handi and find out how simple, handy, and accurate they are, you will want another one or a least another barrel for it, and you can't get that with a Rossi or the Rem. import.
There is also a better market for sale or trade if you stick with a H&R.    Jedman
