Resale value is the difference in a fine pistol using a beater for a base gun, and something like a $1000 semi custom production one. Say you buy a RI and put $600 in parts and finish into it. At that point you have a nice pistol, personalized to your tastes for about a grand. Should you ever have to sell it, (God Forbid) you have a $400 pistol. The semi custom production gun will sell used for 80% (Or so) of it's new selling price. So,-----if you plan to keep the gun forever and pass it down through the generations, go with a custom and get precisely what you want. If you look at guns as an investment, the new semi custom is the best buy. Just a matter of preference and taste. Something to consider.
