I'm attending Glock armorer school and firearms inst. school April 27. Has anyone been or have any experience with the school or how difficult it is?

The Glock armorer's course will likely be the least difficult block of training you'll have. You'll love the firearms instructor's school. Enjoy your vacation! I'm guessing the FIC is  still a two week  thing.

Glock Armorer's School is easy. They give you a gun and you follow along with the instructor.

Thanks for the replies, I'll post how the school goes! I'm excited about the FIC though. Thanks again for the info.

My son in law went through it a couple weeks ago, it was a dept requirement as if any of their weapons are involved in a shooting and had anything done to them that they could be held accoutable for it.  BTW havent heard from him since the night b-4 he took it.   Jim

I went thru the course in Birmingham, Al 7-8 years ago. The Instructor was an ex-Spec-ops man who taught a very good class.  You'll get a good manual, armorer tool and maybe some other goodies.  You will be surprised how easy the weapon is to work on and repair.  Don't know about now, but back then our class got a letter for special deals on parts and prices from Glock.  Enjoy

How often do we have update the course? I took mine in 92 and there were only 7 models, not that they changed much but there is a lot more of them to work on after all this time. Factory parts would be nice at a discount, i am shooting IDPA and it will come in handy for the noobs that need new parts or cleanings. Thank you  Mtn Jack

I attended the Glock Armor's school in the very late eighties or early nineties, I can't remember. I still have the little tool they gave us and the big blown up chart. I was an interesting school, and the guy had a 9mm Glock :P, that had had over 250,000 rounds ran thru it. You could shoot it all you wanted as long as you kept count of the rounds THEY FURNISHED. The barrel and slide I believe had gone thru either 2 or three lower receivers, and trigger assemblies. It's been awhile

I have my certification with the rest of my training records somewhere, but I haven't looked in a long time. No dragging behind a car, but he did have one that had been left in the trunk of a car for two weeks with an over turned car battery. It was pitted pretty good, but still a shooter. I just don't remember the guys name, but I could get parts for police weapons free from him just by calling him. He would ship the next day. A great guy.

Well, just got back from armorer school and learned alot, neat class and now I can work on my depts guns. As far as the company being sold, no way. This talk may be coming from the fact that the president of the company that runs the day to day operations isn't a family memeber of Glock. However Gaston Glock is in his 80's and his daughter is showing more interest in running the company than either of his two sons. Glock also has a big meeting in the US once a year with all the LE/MIl/Civi reps and trainers and the big wigs of Glock so they can know what the public is saying. There were five things, a single stack .45acp, a carbine, a singlestack micro .380 and I don't remember the other two. Thanks again for the replys on the school!

I'm glad you learned a lot. I'm sorry I saw this thread so late. Have  you ever taken a gun apart so many times in such a short time? Our dept. sent me to the Glock Armorers school in Aug of 03. It was a great class, I've never taken a gun apart so many times in my life. Once a year we completely went through all the issue Glocks & replaced anything needing it which wasn't often.
I retired in 06, but that class is a really fond memory among many. I l iked the Glock so well I purchased my own as I had to turn in he issue one ( darn) We used the Glock .40, either the 22 or 23 & were restricted to using it as a backup gun on duty so many of us bought a 27. Glad you liked the class. Be safe!  ;)
