I have had one on both 357 and on a 22lr.  Seeing as how recoil is subjective  I did not notice any "major" difference  with hot 357.
There is a problem with hard kicking(?)  weapons as the stock can close and feed you a scope  , it has been discussed here before. I wanted them so I could have a shorter overall length.  hth   Doug

I have the AR type on my 22Hornet but not sure it would handle the recoil of a 308

Using the loads I had in my 357( 180gr fngc @1850)  the recoil energy is 7.5 fpe, the 243 factory is @ 8.6 fpe and the 308 is  @16.7fpe . I would use it on the 243, but as S.E.Ak said ,not on the 308.   Doug

I had one on a .223 once, wasnt bad, rattled like the dickens so I got rid of it with the rifle, gonna put one on a hornet if I can ever round a new one up.  The new ATI stocks are supposed to be much better than the old kind I had.

Id say it was easy enough to see through the scope, they may make cheek peices by now, youd have to check, or make one

Spanky, I have never had the," rare "opportunity. But having watched others "taste it" it sure looks very" rare" to me ::)There was a picture posted here a while back, showing what a Handi shot gun did to a guy. It was not pretty.    Doug

I have one on a 12 ga.  Its not to bad with the extra recoil pad that you can get but without it my shoulder had the checkering of the stock for a few days.

I've been tapped between the eyes with a scope before. I didn't like it too much. :-\

Here's what I did to see through the scope more easily.Just took a piece of foam pipe insulation and cut it to fit the stock.I've put two nylon wire ties on it now to hold it in position.Works great now. It's on my 223.Slow

I checked with Mossberg at the SHOT show and they said their 6 position AR style stock on the Mossy 500's are from ATI.    If they can handle the 12 g 3" magnums then it would seem they should be able to handle a 308 in a Handi.

I don't know yet - I haven't bought one for my Mossberg yet.   But if Mossberg were having trouble (breakage) with these stocks it would stand to reason they would discontinue them.

Now that's a simple and cool answer to a predicament.   Good job.

For me, about the only use would be on a .22 or .357. Makes it easier to fit the firearm to the kids. (Which is part of the reason they love my AR15 with the .22 adapter).
Have lights? Thank a Lineman!
