At least the republican response isn't being done by Bobby Jindall this time. It's a lot more professionally done this time. They do have a Hollywood roundup behind the Virginia governor, though: Black, military, Asian, female.

Shucks, the republican response isn't really a rebuttal. It's more of a speech outlining the republican direction for the near future. That's what it seems like, anyway. It's certainly a better speech than Obama's. Don't bother listening to Obama's address. Listen to this rebuttal. It's worth the time.

The NPR talking heads were using the technique of damning with faint praise for the republican rebuttal. And then they went on to praise Obama's speech some more. By the way, Obama scarcely mentioned Afghanistan and said nothing about what the national objective is for being there. He did say that our troops will be training the Afghan army. This is a strange objective because the Afghan army is fully infiltrated by the Taliban, so there can be no secrets from the Taliban.

That was 70 minutes of contradictions. He is completely tone deaf, and condescending.

One positive is that this assures he will be a one termer.

Somehow I didn't think he was gonna say "I'm really sorry, my fellow Americans, I have really screwed things up, It may be because I have no experience or the fact that I have been trained as an America hating elitist ! Heck Sarah Palin could have done better than this!"

This is worth watching. Obama spent quite a bit of time making it clear that he had no respect for the Supreme Court's de-fanging of McCain-Feingold and he made it clear that he wants to pass laws that will "fix" this problem created by the supreme court. The video shows a small piece of this:

Obama's speech will be meaningless if the states don't vote out the "dead" representation we have in our congress now who are organized like the crew of the Titanic. All they ever do is finger pointing and not make any gain for the middle class wage earner. We got a start here in Massachusetts, now let the rest of the country take notice. Good bye to the tax and spend dynasty that has been replaced.

What I took from the speech was that everything is the Republican minority's fault. We can make Obamunism work if we just spend enough money by freezing spending at the extreme rate that it is at. Rhetoric and platitudes are the answer to all of our problems--don'tchaknow.

Didn't watch, why watch someone lie to me? But I see on Fox this morning how he attacked the Supreme Court. Dems. don't like it when a little fairness creeps into the election process. I hope the conservative members of the court have very good body guards.

obama is an idiot for attacking the supreme court. If we want big money out of politics, seems to me that is a legislative issue and not an issue for the supreme court to legislate......
