Coyotes in My Yard

The police tell me that if they catch me shooting they will have to cite me or arrest me.  My wife has a little dog that means the world to her.  I have shot one with a 38 spec. in a Handi, and shot at another with a 22.  It's hard to find a safe lane to fire.  I've  tried live trapping, but they won't take  the bait.  I'm thinking of trying to call them in at night and pop them with a 22.

Is there dirt or lots of pavement?  If dirt - maybe consider a bow?  It's silent, you don't risk any firearms discharge charges within town/city limits, and it'll get the job done.

The only problem is if that dog gets out of your yard alive, your screwed. Feed the dog everytime you see him, and he will get to coming to you.
Feed him in a place out of view of the public. Put a leash on him and take him for a ride. Don't dump him in the country though, if he's still breathing.
You get the idea mechanic. Skinin a cat don't always require a knife.

We use a live chicken tied out to bring them, The chicken noise and movement draws them in. You can shoot and they will still come to the easy meal......I have seen 3-4 dropped within 5 mins. using this, and if you are a good shot the chicken stays alive

BTW we have two rat terriers and these guys have the hinnys handed to em, rats can be nasty little dogs when they want, they definately rule the roost here....
