Prices raised on factory fitted barrels

I was cruising around the H&R website and took a look at the barrel accessory page and it looks like Remington raised the price on the majority of their barrels and also raised the price of shipping to $19 and the price of barrel fitting to $25.

You cant even get a basic 12 gauge shotgun barrel ($55) fitted for less than $100. This makes me sick  >:(

I said this was gonna happen a couple months ago >:( I ordered Mexican food the other night and they had a new menu. Price increase. >:(
Now we can pay more for a long wait and misinformation :'(

I bet since the menu changed on the barrels it won't be long for the whole guns ;)

It's no surprise, barrels used to be a bargain, the old $15 fitting fee in this day and age was ridiculously low, $25 seems more logical considering what they have to do, specially if they do a good job consistently. $19 shipping is more in line with what it actually costs considering it has to be properly packed also, that's for one or 2 barrels, the old rate was for as many barrels as you wanted, one member got eleven barrels for the $10 or $15 shipping it was then.

The prices don't bother me tooo much IF they can do a better job with fitting them right and giving correct information. I'd hate to pay more for what they were doing the last few months. Hopefully they will have the barrels in stock.
Nobody likes price increases but seem to accept them after a while.

I prefer to be a 'glass is half full' rather than 'half empty' guy, but....In five years, maybe much less, we will consider todays price a bargain.

It amazes me how much the price of everything is going up while unemployment is as high as it is and even Social Security recipients are in for a cut. I just found out I'll be getting the smallest tax return of my life. Well I guess it's all part of the middle class change we were told about.

yea, I seriously doubt those ''change advocates'' recieved many of their votes from the firearm community . As far as the price increases , if the service improves an extra $20 or so won't be that big of a deal . Imagine if they stopped offering it all together , that would really suck . My wages keep falling , wish I could raise my prices !

No, another $20 isn't that big of a deal. I think we're all just sick of seeing $20 more every time we go to spend the money that's getting harder and harder to earn, let alone save. Nothing against H&R, it isn't H&Rs fault it's just the times we live in.

Maybe if their barrel fitting costs keep going up, they'll invest in the tooling so all barrels are interchangeable. Just a thought.

So that is about $225 delivered for an interchangeable Encore barrel (Midway also has $20 off coupons all the time dropping the delvered price to $205). Midway also has a rep for shipping in-stock items the same day. No scope base though.

Vs roughly $155 all in for sending your receiver to H&R can hopefully getting a standard rifle barrel with lower resale value back in a month.

H&R will have to spend more money on making the frames to get the tolerances to a minimum to be able to allow OTC barrels, and it won't happen with the current frame, othewise people will be ordering barrels for older frames that won't fit.  ::)
