Coyotes/wolves up, deer down

Over the last couple of years, our hunting area has been hit with deep snows. The deer population was up, and so was the coyote, and wolf population.
The very first winter with high snow levels, brought the deer numbers way down. There was also a notable lack of fawns, even fawn tracks.
The deep snow, allowed the predators to run on top, while the deer were worn down running through the deep snow. Now into our third winter since that first heavy snow, and snow levels are already high for this early in the season.
We suffered in the 1970's with what was known as the 'no deer years' looks like that could happen again.
I'm going to organize the guys for a wolf/coyote hunt soon.

  It is starting to look like the wolf, coyote, eagle, predator in general progam needs to be handled in the way the old timers handled Henry Pummer in Montana, he was the law, but a crook the common folks hunted him down, and either shot the members of his gang or hung them...It is time we handle this problem ourselves...SSS

 Has anyone ever thought that bringing back wolves, big cats and all of the coyotes could fit in with many other things that we think may happen soon. Once upon a time alot of people fed thierself with the deer, elk and other game that these large preditors are lower the herds all the time. If the shtf there will be very little game for people to hunt. And these preditors would soon take alot of the tame stock too. Just a thought.

With the deep snows that the north eastern sates are getting this year, I expect you'll be getting hit with low deer numbers too, if that snow stays for long.
This year so far up here, were in a snow drought. We have about six inches left on the front lawn, and it's been that way mosty of the winter. Deer should be recovering some this year.

i recently read of a study, done i believe in one of the carolinas. they closely tracked a number of does with newborn fawns.the amount of mortality that coyotes caused was almost unbelievable.

when the coyote moves in it kills off the fox, when the wolf moves in it kills off the coyote.When great grandpa moved in he killed off all the other predators maybe he was smarter than us. The other predators aren't cute they are competition for resources.Don't you love it when they come out and say there are so many elk in Yellowstone that they are damaging the ecosystem and we need wolfs to control them, What is wrong with having hunts were the meat is donated to second harvest or some other outfit to feed the hungry.I'm sure that there are enought intrested hunters to solve the problem.

  there were enough hunters to control the elk...the wolf issue is a ploy by anti's to ruin hunting in the west...Yellowstone Park is run by yuppies, gays, and eco freaks from all over the world...there isn't a normal red blooded person in the entire crew.......

We wanted to do that with geese from the city of Toronto, use them to feed the homeless. You won't believe the reason they gave for not doing it.
"The meat would not be government inspected"
Toronto is the Liberal capital of Canada. Pretty much anti - everything.
Instead they spend big bucks exporting them to other municipalities as far away as the east coast.
Those communities now have the same problem, so Toronto needs a new solution to goose crap.

yu know i hadnt thought of the coyotes killing off the foxes. i used to trap a lot of foxes.used to see a few once in awhile. now not so much.when yote fur was high we had lots of foxes. used to shoot a few yotes in the back field. now not so much, killed all the dumb ones.

Send the wolf's down this way where ate up with deer, we have so many deer around here they give the farmers some kinda special tags they can shoot the deer and leave them lay crop damage,we have coyotes but they dont seem to thin the deer herds out around this part of the country,We dont have much snow so we dont have to worry about the snow killing the young fawns,send the wolfs this way it would give use hunters some thing else to shoot at beside mangey old coyotes,all the coyotes thin out around here are rabbits
