Avalanche with ski tracks
« on: February 01, 2010, 02:33:11 AM »
I took this picture just south of Rabbit Ears Pass yesterday.  It hadn't slid when I drove up two days prior.  Notice the three ski tracks leadinginto it.  I hoope they ahd a safe ride because this little one ran all the way to the ground.  Bouncing off rocks while suffocating doesn't sound fun to me.

We went up the Grand Mesa last Sunday and got stopped near the summit by a slide.  Road closed.  I took this photo from about a mile through snowflakes at 18X so it looks a little grainy.  You can see the fracture line pretty well.  it was a natural release.
