« on: January 22, 2010, 11:23:00 AM »
Thinking about getting a 345 to go along with my p95. Any owners have any issues with these or are they pretty much same old Ruger high quality firearm?  Just looking for shooters opinions really.

I've had one for about year and a half , probably have 7 or 8 hundred rounds through it.  I really like it.  The first magazine I put through it , had one malfunction.......don't think its hiccuped since. I've shot half a dozen different loads through it, seems to feed anything within reason. At fifteen yards it shoots 2 1/2 inch groups.  I've found it likes 200 grain XTPs on top of bullseye the best.   It may be bigger than some to conceal....but its fairly flat , hides under most shirts or light jackets.  I think its a very nice or maybe the best in its price range....remember, I try to buy American. ;D

I like mine.  Haven't carried it since last night tho.    ::)
If I am in the car and travelling, it is close.......
Never had a malfunction.

I've been carrying mine every day for almost a year now.  Had a P97 which I liked but the P345 is more carry friendly and just feels better in my hand.  The only time I don't have mine at hand is when I'm tot'n a Blackhawk or Vaquero.  I've not shoot mine enough yet(maybe 100 rds) and it seemed to really like the first load I tried so I haven't tried anything else.  Zero malfunctions to date. ;D

Great gun as far as I can see!

The only "issue" I have had was an ammo problem in cast bullets.

However, that was a loading problem which would have fouled up any .45.

This WAS NOT!!! A CAST BULLET PROBLEM, but rather a loading issue which caused a small burr of lead at the case mouth, which inturn prevented the cartridge from seating to the proper position in the chamber.

No burr, NO PROBLEM!

Other then the bad ammo, it has NEVER stuttered.

The P345 did however, cause me to take another look at a progressive press.

FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Keep em coming!
