North & South

One morning, 3 Good Ol' Boys from Alabama and 3 Yankees were heading to a football game in Atlanta.

They were standing in the ticket line at the train station in Birmingham, and after the Yankees bought 3 tickets, they noticed the Southerners had only bought one ticket.

"How are three of you going to travel on one ticket" ? asked one of the Yankees.

"Watch and learn" was the reply.

After boarding the train, the three Yankees took seats, and the three boys from the South crammed into one of the rest rooms, and closed the door.

Shortly after the train left the station, the Conductor came around collecting tickets.

As he passed by the rest rooms, he would knock on the door, and call, "ticket please".

At the rest room the Southern boys were in, the door opened a crack, and a hand held out the ticket.

The Conductor took the ticket, and moved on.

After a time, the 3 Southerners came out and took seats near the Yankees, who agreed that it was a good trick, and that they would try it on the way back.

After the game, the six travelers were at the Atlanta train station, and the Yankees sent one guy to the ticket line, but when it came time to board the train, the Southern boys had not bought a ticket.

"How are you going to get by with no ticket?" aked one of the Yankees.

"Watch and learn, came the reply.

Once on the train, the three Southern boys piled into one restroom, and the three Yankees into another.

As soon as the train began to move, one of the Southerners tiptoed to the Yanks restroom, tapped on the door, and said, "ticket please."

There is no way on God's green Earth to explain how the damned Yankees won that war . . . . . . . . .
