I think you will find plenty of us that shoot cast bullets from Glocks.
I did replace the factory barrel after several years but only to get rid of the case bulge

I forgot about replacing barrels on the Glocks.

i really hate comming to the defense of glocks as im not a big fan but that is mostly a personaly thing but my partner at work has a 10mm glock and ive loaded at least a 1000 rounds of cast for him and hes not had a lick of trouble with them. As a matter of fact he claims its the most accurate load hes found in his. Just be a bit more careful about any possible overcharge loading for them. The load i used for him was a starting load listed for the 200 grain bullet i was using. Heck Ted Nugget has used his 10mm glock for hunt so very big animals and claims its his favorite hunting handgun. Personaly I shot a 200 lb hog with my smith and wesson 610 revolver in 10mm with a 200 grain cast bullet and it spit through it like butter. theres nothing a 357 will do that the 10mm wont do better.

The Glock 29 carried in a Fobus number 4 holster is pretty easy to pack. For the woods I load it with 10 rounds of 200 grain FMJ's. I went with the 29 for the size and weight reduction over the full sized model 20.

Not as easy as my 12 oz 340 PD . But that said both loose enough horse power with short bbls they aren't the same critter as their big brothers. More noise and flash maybe though.

Seeing that this has turned into "another" 357 vs 10mm deer killing thread I'll add my answer to the original question. If you want a Glock 20 in 10mm thats what I would buy. If what you truly want is a "backup" to your 500sw hunting round for smaller animals, (coyote, rabbit, skunk,(pew) squirrels,etc;) then my vote goes to a 22mag in a good single action. (read Ruger Single Six) it will kill a coyote farther than you can reliably hit one with a revolver. Also detremental to the health of other small critters.  Not so high on the ego chart as a 10 or 357 but will do the job you're alluding to..enjoy your Glock..

Sorry shootall but id feel much better armed for deer hunting with a glock 10mm then a alloy snubby in any caliber. There just to hard to shoot accurately. They may make a good protection gun for the woods but that deer better be up close and personal if your hunting with one. Plus i dont know if 50 lbs of meat is worth pulling the trigger on one of those visious little critters

Nope don't hunt with it , was compareing to the G-29 in the post above mine . I have shot the 29 and it is a useless gun IMHO for anything short of a very close range weapon most if not all would do better with a j frame or G 27. The 340 is good to 20 or so yards if you pratice alot , after that the group can open a bit . I find the 340 a hard kicker for sure . Mine has very thin SS grips which does nothing to spread the recoil . I shoot it about 10 times with full house loads each time i pratice and more with 38's . My full size glock 10 mm is ok and i do use it for hunting some

My 6 inch 357 mag is MUCH louder than my glock 20 10mm. I can manage the 10mm but I CAN'T shoot the smith without earplugs.

Justin10mm, I have a bit of advise early on in the PD we never used hearing protection, we used spent 38 casings, well the PD got tired of use saying HUH, They finally realized the firing on the range was causing ear damage. My point is wear that hearing protection at all times whether target or hunting. At 73 I have to say huh quite a bit. A word to the wise. Lou

As a backup/woods gun I like the .357 for yet another reason. Not just because you can shoot teeth rattling loads in it, but because you can also shoot .38s in it. It would be nice to have enough of that rabbit/squirrel/what-ever-small-game left to eat. Doesn't take a great deal of power to kill that cottonmouth/copperhead, etc. You can load it with those big mama 180-200 grain loads when you need to, .38s when you don't, but ain't nothing as versatile as the good old .357.
