I think the 130 gr Nosler Accubond is the perfect deer bullet for my 264 mag. I have a custom 700 Rem with a Shilen 27 3/4 inch barrel. I worked up a load to 66.5 grs Retumbo, CCI 250 primer, A reformed WW 7mm Rem mag case necked down to 264 and my rifle shoots best with the bullet 10 thousands off the lands. It will shoot groups in the .4's at 100 yards, just a ragged hole for three shots, and the bullet is going 3350 fps average. I killed 4 deer with this combo this year from 275 yards down to 98 yards. On the buck at 275 that was quartering toward me the bullet hit center of it's front shoulder and exited about the size of a golf ball about midway of the ribs on the offside. Bang flop went this deer. Buck number two was shot at 111 yards broad side through both shoulders with a golf ball size exit. Bang flop went this deer. Deer number three was a doe at 98 yards quartering toward me. Bullet entered center of front shoulder and exited midway of ribs on offside with golf ball exit hole. Bang flop went the deer. Now deer number 4 was a buck that proved to me that the Accubond is the perfect bullet for the high velocity of my 264 Win mag. This buck was at 111 yards, same crossing as deer #2. This buck was almost facing me with just a slight left shoulder angle toward me. I placed the bullet on the edge of that left shoulder. The bullet destroyed that shoulder made soup out of the vitals and dropped that deer in it's tracks. While cutting up the meat I found the bullet in the right ham. It was a text book mushroom with the core very secure to the jacket and the recovered weight was 71 grs. That bullet had to still be doing close to 3200 fps on impact. If it will stay together after hitting bone that fast and travel the length of a good size buck and drop it in it's tracks it has me as a lifetime user.
