Webley Mark IV's
« on: November 27, 2009, 01:47:57 AM »
I had always wanted a classic Brit top break revolver so I didn't hesitate long when I got an email from Century Arms.

Pictures are below.  Really nice condition.  I guess that they might have been refinished but the stamping looks really sharp so I am not sure.  They look pretty newish to me.

In any event, I'll be trying them out tomorrow.

BTW they are .38 S&W and cost $258 each delivered.

Nice and nice price,  They look like a couple of the post war versions that have a safety added to them.  I have a WWII era Webley that I have just started to play with.  Mine does have a habit of piercing primers most of the time which I attribute to the need for it to fire no matter how many times you might have crawled through the mud with it.

Here's a link to a site that will give you the approximate mfg date (the MK IV was made up until 1982):

Thanks for the info, Brian.

The pistol makes me think of Zulu. ;D

The bores look new.  Remarkable buy, IMO.

Well, like a fool I came across one at the gunshow 2 weekends ago.
A guy was walking around with one in perfect condition....wanted $175....told him I'd think about it and track him down....he said so I wouldn't have to track him down he'd take $150!

It was WWII marked "Wartime Finish"

I wanted to buy a rifle (wound up with a Marlin 883 with 3x9x32 scope in .22 mag)

Told him I'd still have to think about it...15 minutes later I tried to find him but couldn't.

A little later on, I saw the gun one someones table....he marked it up to $375.
I should of bought it and put it on GunBroker, but only had so much money with me... :-[
