Cast bullet Suggestion for 350 Rem mag
« on: February 07, 2010, 09:20:52 AM »
I do not cast my own so I am looking for some suggestions for a good commercially available cast bullet to load in my 1:12 twist 350 rem mag. The load will be pushed to around the 2000 fps mark and will be used for deer and bear with most shots well under 100 yards.

Thanks,

Erick

I'd recommend getting in touch with Cast Performance. Something like this:

should do the trick.
"Give me a lever long enough, and a place to stand, and I'll break the lever."

That's a good looking pistol bullet, but won't feed in my lever gun at all. My 356W has to have a rifle bullet design to fit throat and feed without stove-piping. Haven't tried them yet in a bolt gun. May work fine in the 350RemMag and Whelen. Could be worth a try. For sure at the top end of Veral's DV formula at 2000fps with that WLN.

frank at mt baldy bullets casts the 245 seaco flat point and its probably the best design for the more powerful .35s out there. He sent me a box to try a while back and they were great bullets   http://www.mtbaldybullets.com/

I got some of these saeco 245's from another generous source, and like Lloyd said, they work great for me, enough to shop for my own mold.

Thanks for the suggestions. I think I will give those seaco 245's a try.

couple more good bullets that are a tad lighter that do double duty in my 35 rems and 356 are the rcbs 200 rfgc and a 220 rfgc i had veral make for me. Both of these bullets are very accurate too. But in my opinion the 350 just screams for the 245.
