No deer this year again.  Saw very few reminds me of hunting in the  1970's when there were few deer .  Thank You DNR

Don't feel all alone........I hunted unit 40 (Forest county) and went the entire season (missed two days) without seeing a deer. I've stubbornly refused to bait but am coming to the realization that I may have to become a "corn pile hunter" if venison chops are going to be on the menu.  :( It's hard to believe the DNR issued doe tags up there.

3rd 9 day season no deer seen.  Lots more tracks this year in one of the places I hunt but deer were 100 % nocturnal.  Could this be because of the 2 months previous archery hunting pressure, or the baiting?   Silly me, of course not.  It's because of the poor visability in the woods from the new snow....or maybe...it was too cold and the hunters weren't moving the deer...hmmm...that doesn't sound right either.  Say what you want about the supposed deer numbers, but the wolves have moved on to somewhere else.  Apparently not enough "feed" to keep them here.

We have always had peaks and valleys in deer hunting and life in general.  I'm encouraged by the slight increase in deer numbers and I think next year will be a better year, especially with the wolves mostly gone from here.
Vote them all out, EVERY election!

Does anyone remember the scene from "Quigley Down Under" showing the aborigines lined up on the skyline as far as you could see?   That needs to be US!
