EGW Handi Scope Mount???
« on: February 09, 2010, 03:19:01 PM »
I FINALY scored a used 30-30 Handi today and there is no scope base. The EGW is kinda expensive but I like the quality. So, has anyone tried one yet?

I bought one from arrowstar in the classifieds for $25, but haven't mounted it yet, dk17hmr was the first to have one, it's in the FAQs.

Don't own one, but I agree they sure look like a quality mount.

It looks like the ticket! Once it is in hand I need to figure out what hight wrings I need and if a hammer extension is necessary.

I have 4 of them.  I wanted to switch to picatinny mounts for all my rifles (including Handi's).  They are great except 3 of the 4 had the rear of the base hang over the barrel and hit the receiver by a few thousandths of an inch.  Touch it with a dremel and it is good to go.  Now I can switch any scope to any rifle at any time.  And if I write down the settings they will return very very very close to zero also.
