A trout? That ain't a trout, THIS is a trout.

I was jumping up and down when I pulled this bugger out of the hole.  24" Rainbow trout.  This fish comes from a stocked lake too, huge for a stocker, even in Alaska.

Beautiful fish!  What did you get it on?  I'm surprised that you can still icefish up there in the Arctic, what with global warming melting all of your ice.

Nope not yet, we got PLENTY of ice.  Had to use a five foot auger with a one foot extension, and dig a hole first to get through all the snow and ice.  About four feet of it was pure ice.

Caught him on an diver minnow.  Heavy minnow lure, like a rapala but sinks like a rock, and good wiggling action.   Usually we just use powerbait.

I love seeing a fish that has great color like yours.  Nice catch!
