Inconsistant shooting with new encore 7mm08
« on: November 07, 2003, 01:39:12 PM »
I picked up a new encore yesterday in 7mm-08, topped with a burris 2x7 and went to the range today.  Shot three boxes of different but similar ammo but was all over the place even at 25 yards.  Scope mounts are tight.  The next thing I think would be logical would be to adjust trigger pull, it is much heavier than any gun I own.  I have the rubber grip and forend so I don't know if the shimming trick would work.  Where do I find trigger adjustment instructions?  Thanks in advance...

I had the same problem with my new Encore in 308 a few weeks back.
The guys here directed me to a post than explained the spring adjustment, and it made all the difference.
I can't remember the post name, but search under Encore Trigger, and you will find it.
It took my groups from 3-4 inches at 100 yards to 1 1/2 inches or less.
Now the rest is me just getting used to the gun, and shooting in the barrel a bit more.
Note:  After following the instructions posted on this site, and fighting to get to the spring, genious here, figured out that on the rubber gripped Encore, you need to take off the hand grip, then it is a piece of cake to make the adjustment.
