Good customer service from Ruger
« on: January 27, 2011, 08:55:16 AM »
I know it has been discussed before, but I just have to start my own new thread.

I sent my 25 yr old Blackhawk in to the factory for repairs on 1/17. I thought I'd give them 2 weeks and then call for an update. Well yesterday the UPS truck dropped off a box with my revolver! One week turn around; no charge for the parts, labor or return shipping.

Well done, Ruger!

What was it that you had Ruger do? My BIL is getting ready to send in his BH.

I had some hammer push off issues.
With a very light tough on the back of the hammer it would fall from the cocked position.
Also had alot of failure to fire problems because of what looked like light primer strikes.
Ruger replaced the hammer & trigger.

How does this work with shipping a firearm.  Do you have to work through an FFL to ship your gun to Ruger?
‎Is it really Zombie Max, if it's not .357 Max?

Shuetzen
the way I understand it:

from the owner to the factory no FFL is needed.

an individual without a FFL cannot ship a handgun by US Postal Service, you must use a common carrier like UPS or FedEx.

UPS told me their policy is a handgun must be shipped nex day air, it's kind of spendy, $70
