If it's a .243 win then go get some IMR-4831......

You cannot go wrong with IMR 4350 in the .243. I have fired lots of the 85 grain HPBT's in my .243 before I shot the barrel out and never did get it to group really well in my rifle. My favorites were the 75 grain HP and the 100 grain SP or Partition.

Its a .243 win.  I have a sierra manual on the way, just impatient I guess.  Thanks for the replies and the wealth of info here.

;) pin, I used thousands of 85 grain HPBT when I had 243's..I probably used both the 4831's, but IMR 4350 was a favorite also...you should be able to pick up some loads off the web...If not give me a pm...somewhere I have an old Hodgon's loading book in my reloading room...will be here in a bit have a trip to the tooth dr. at 1:00, shouldn't belong if you are anxious to start....

45.0 grains of H4831 and 85 grain bullets in my Ruger M77 shoots ragged holes at 100 yards.  Rarely have one go outside the cluster.

The sierra manual lists:

H4895 starting 32.8 Max 35.4

It does not list a load for H4350.
