Gravity flow Water Filters
« on: April 13, 2010, 06:44:52 PM »
I want to get a gravity Flow water filter that can filter 1 liter fairly quickly. Right now I'm looking at the MSR auto flow. Anybody have experience with these? My main interest is good filtration and durability. It seems the smaller water filters have more cheap/ plastic parts that can break easily. So thought it better to go with a gravity flow. What are your experiences? Thanks!

Berkey is what I use I have a large one for the house and a sport bottle for my pack. They have always done a great job and never had any problems with either.

I agree with kctibs. I have a Katadyn I bought some years ago that is a pump, and it was pricey, and I have never used it. I bought it during the y2k thing, and it is safely stored. The Berkly is one that I will one day buy. I have a ceramic on my frig, and we cook and drink that water, but I wish I had a Berky. It make a huge difference in taste, even in coffee and tea.
