Contender Hammer Dropping w/out trigger pull?

I have the older model Contender and when I cock the hammer to fire it, the hammer consistantly falls before I squeeze the trigger.  What is causing this problem?  Is there a fix?  What is the fix?

My older contender was doing the same thing and then the hammer spring broke I have to get a new spring now. I hope that is the problem.

You may have the trigger adjusted to be too sensitive.
