I have seen high pressure as a result of leading. When I was first working up loads for my '92 I was having accuracy trouble, and worked with some soft lead bullets to try and get a better gas seal.
Accuracy was good for a couple of shots, then dropped off quickly.
I was screwing around with different loads I had prepared under that bullet, when I noted the primers had flattened right out.
A check of the bore showed leading on an insane scale.
Needless to say, I stopped shooting, and spent a few hours cleaning.

I had spent about 45 minutes on the bore the day before. It's the brass from Remington. Never happened before, and I have been loadin that load and cartridge since 1971. Now I have two in about 2 months. Been shootin the rifle for about 5 or 6 years.

Yep it happens -just got some bad brass!  You say you have tons of brass I'd just use those Rems for plinking loads! Most of my failures have been with Nickel brass cases! I have yet to have a case fail in 357 Mag!  Mostly 45LC and 454 Casull. Now I did get some BRAND NEW 8mm RP cases with splits in the neck! :o

Yeah Puma, I'm a scrounger. I am not even sure where this Remington brass came from. I have thousands of 38 special brass, that I have traded for, or been given over the years.
Anytime I shot Remington brass from now on, I will do so with shooting glasses, and only practice. And I will discard it when empty until it's gone.
