45-70 Ultra which has a too deep rim cut
Are all 45-70 Ultras like that or just yours? I am asking because I am planning on buying one in a few weeks. Do the regular Handi 45-70,s have the same problem?

Beginning to think I made a poor choice

I've only seen a report of one other by 26-T that had the same problem, mine shoots excellent after I modified the extractor to limit headspace to zero, chose to do that instead of sending it back for another barrel, mine was one of the first made by Gardner, I bought it from Bud's when they first got them in stock.

I've only put about 60 rounds through mine so far (it's two days old) and I've had one misfire.  I think that may be because I was trying to be very light on the trigger.... think I read about it somewhere, maybe the FAQ.

I don't think mine is cut too deeply, it seems nice and flush with a cartridge in the chamber
