You will probably want to get a set of grips for it.  I got the hogue one piece grip for mine.  Otherwise the trigger guard is gonna smack you good when you fire a full house 44 mag load.

Nice buy!!

Rubber baby bumpers on a nice SA revolver is sacrilegious and should be at least a misdemeanor.   :)   I've found many that get the "bite" get it becasue they fight the recoil too much and don't allow the natural roll of the gun, you know as it was designed to.   :D

Amen brother! ;)

I like EAGLE GRIPS Gunfighter model on XR3-red grip frames.  The flat bottom gives enough extra surface to have all three fingers on the frontstrap.  They make them in water buffalo horn...got them on 44s with XR3-red, Dragoon and Bisley grip frames.

I dont care for any oversized grip on a single action. the custom grips i use on a blackhawk are just for looks and are cut the same way the factory grips are. By the way ive got a stainless one just like yours and its one of my most carried sixgun. I even shot a 1100 lb buffalo with it. to me there about the most versitile out of the box sixgun i guy can own. If i found a blued one id probably snatch it up in a second.

What in the world did you feed it?   It takes a lot to blow up a Rutger.

Its a long story but short version is the barrel was twisting in the frame and I sent it back to ruger ! They rebuilt it and sent it back ! T he third shot blew up and ruger said it was my reload (I think a lawyer got involved on their end  ) but there was a dent  in forcing cone so i think timing was off from rebuild ! They would not warrenty their work !

I really don't like the Pachmeyers for BHs either. But I have a load for my .41mag that is brutal on my hand. One cylinder full will peal the hide off the webb of my hand. The hammer spur bites my hand. They help me control the gun so I can roll with it instead of it flipping back in my hand and biting me. Last time I tried it with stock grips it drew blood. Not pleasant. When I'm not shooting the 300gr loads in it I put the stock grips back on it. The rubber ones are not comfortable to use and are really butt ugly. I am considering installing a bisley grip frame on it. It's a good gun to carry when poking around in bear country but the BH bites almost as hard as a bear........
