Question on Rem 7600?
« on: March 30, 2010, 11:38:02 AM »
I just bought a used 7600 on GunBroker. How do you get the forarm and forks out of the rifle? Then does the bolt come out after the forks? I know how to get the trigger mechanism out. Have taken several 870's apart, is this about the same. Does the barrel come off or is it permanet. Zeak

Remington will send you disassembly guide if you call them.  I got one for my 760, but it required a special tool, and I had a gunsmith do it for $20.  was worth it.
The older I get...The better I was.

Why do you want/need to take the barrel off of your rifle? My son has my 760 30-06 (mid 70's vinatge) that has had several hundred rounds fired through it and the barrel has never been removed. The only guy I know that removed a 760/7600 barrel was to replace the damaged one that was on it.
