Breech plug
« on: February 28, 2010, 06:20:39 AM »
Im wondering if other manufacturers breech plugs will fit the huntsman.  Mine is a 50 cal with the 7/8 plug.  I have read the stickies and dont find what I need to know.  Im wanting to know if a breech plug from T/C, CVA, Traditions, Etc. would fit the huntsman.  Anyone have any idea?

medicdogg,

You are out of luck for other brands of OEM breech plugs. I have 6 different styles of aftermarket cusom plugs for my NEF's that are WAY better than the original. I have several of these styles in both the 5/8" and 7/8" plugs as well. There is a bare 209 primer option that is available, but we arent allowed to talk about them on here anymore. Sorry!

Why the gag order on the breech plugs?

Aparently, Bill didn't like what some folks had to say about that BP. So, he ordered a ban about it.

This used to be a great forum, several people used to contribute here. It is pretty dead in here to say the least.

Since we can't talk about it, I'll just post some links.

when thw blow up took place I mentioned that to Bill that traffic here will go down.  He was not too concerned.

I suspect that it has something to do with becomming an unpaid advertisement. The basic information on contact is in the sticky under "everbody read". I agree the multiple aftermarket plugs I have are from really good to great. Those modifications take a really good rifle into the great rifle category.

No one's twisting your arm to post on this forum. I'll be happy to just remove it completely if that will make you happier. Matters not to me.

The guy running that company was stealing free advertising here and when called on it he cussed me out and to me where to stick this site. He's gone and will never be allowed to return and if you don't like the ban then it can be extended to you as well just as easily.

Why anyone would want to do business with a person like him is what I don't understand. He is one of only two folks to my recollection ever banned as a business due to the character of the person and his manner of dealing with me in discussions. Like the other fellow he seemed sure things would fold without him.

Believe me if folks can't get over it this one forum will be folded.

Bill,

I apologize for starting a thread such as this.  I was looking for info on other items and not the ones mentioned.  I am sorry that it has continued in this manner and again I apologize.

Boy, that's too bad bill. I lurked here for a long while before joining and seeing how strong you are speaking about someone who isn't even allowed to speak here anymore, sure seems wrong to me.
I remember some of those posts. They were all members simply stating their findings about some Breech Plug. I didn't see any advertising going on. Maybe you and that guy could reconsile?

So, if someone even speaks of a product, say, Green Giant brand,  green beans. Would that be considered advertising for Green Giant?

Maybe I shouldn't have posted this for fear of getting banned myself. I always try and find the good in someone before I make judgement, But I have to say man, you sure are coming off rather harsh.

If he had cussed YOU as he did ME and told me he'd do as he pleased on this site then I think you'd have a different option. At any rate this forum most likely will cease to exist by the end of this week.
