New to owning a t-c. Just bought a pro hunter frame and was wondering can you cock the hammer without a barrel on it?

No, you need a barrel.

There might be a way to do it without the barrel, but I am not aware.

when youu have the barrel off and looking down from the top right hand side of the frame there is a flat piece with a hook on it that has spring tension on it push that back and hold then you can cock the hammer

what will you be hunting (shootin) with your new Prohunter. I have several barrels that I really like - 22-250, 243,  25-06, 7-08, 280 (my per. fav.) Had a 338 and ML but sold and bought a new Savage MLII ML. Just me a 7mag or 300wm is as large a cal. as I would go, but thats JMHO. Im sure you will get many more. And if you can't decide on just one, narrow it down to a three barrel battery ;D ;D ;D

I have finally decided ot look for a predator arrel in 223 or 22-250 range.  I have been shooting ML and having a blast w/ the smaller pistol bullets availible.  Shooting over 2000 fps so I was happy.  Now I will use the system for what it was built for.  I have a SS T-hole black synthetic and love it.
Please be sure to check your gun at the door.  WHAT!

Slight Hijack,,,

Do you need a new forend if going to a rifle barrel from a Muzzy barrel?  I have the pro-hunter and am considering getting a varmint barrel in .17 fireball.

Thanks
Brett
