Slugs?

Probably been asked a million times but will it hurt my full choke 12 ga. barrel to put a slug through it from time to time? I've shot slugs through my 410 full choke but never a 12 full choke. :-\
If it ain't good to do just say so and save me the trouble of damaging the barrel. ;)

You're okay with conventional Foster type slugs, i.e. Remington Slugger, Federal Tru-Ball, etc.

I shoot alot of the sluggers out of my 20 ga. They shoot well for me and they're pretty cheap. ;)
I'll give 'em a try with the 12

no problem at all with regular Forster style rifled slugs. I ahve read they are sized to be shot through full choke guns. I also have shot many through full chokes with no problems and no damage to any gun....<><....:)

Friend of mine has a Browning 12 gauge Autoloader with a 30" full choke barrel that he bought new.  He has been shooting slugs at deer with this gun for over 40 years and has had no problems with the barrel.  His gun is the most accurate shotgun I have ever seen when it comes to shooting foster type slugs.

you wont have any problems if you use pure lead slugs because they are softer then the steel so they can shrink when going through the choke, also most slugs are slightly undersized compare to bore diameter, the ribs on the slugs will deform/flatten and allow the slug to easily go through a full choke.
