Anyone using NcStar?
« on: February 24, 2010, 03:00:24 PM »
Buddy just got an NcStar 6-24x50 with the plex reticle.  Looking through it today I was surprised at how bright and clear it was, all the way to 24x.  The glass was comparable to a Bushnell 4200 or Weaver V series in my opinion.

These are obvioulsy budget based scopes but I was really impressed.

Anyone having any luck with these?

Thanks for the quick reply.  I am seriously considering picking one up for the .243.  For the price and having seen how clear this particular one was it may be worth a shot.  I had almost double clicked on a Nikon Monarch when this NcStar came by.  I wouldn't put them head to head but the glass was close.

Mattri,
I have heard nothing but bad things about them. The other day, I stopped in the local gun shop and looked through a Lone Eagle 7mm-08 (which had a scope on it). I peeked on through the lens, and I was really surprised on how clear the scope was. I looked to see who made the scope, and sure enough it was a NcStar. I currently don't have one, but after seeing how clear they are, I would not hesitate on buying one.

the  mark 111        mark3s    are  pretty good

i have  quite a few of them

i  tried to mount  a mark3 2.5X10 this  is  a 3mm tube with long bell up front
on  a remington 700 270  a friend  owned

[i have this scope on several  ARs  and handis

we couldn't get the  eye relief  right  due to limited  ring placement options

i  think  the  front bell  was so long  the scope was too  far forward
he  HAD  see through  rings [no longer due to the enormus  bell  on  the scope he  chose]

he   is very happy with  it.....i think he has  too  much X  but its not my rifle
