 Years ago I read an article written by a guy who made it his life's work to determine what made people all over the world happy. One of his conclusions was...

 "It's not having more but wanting less that's key to many peoples' happiness."

 Getting (at least partially) out of the grip of a perceived need for things I actually only want has made me a happier person.

A one star Admiral is presenting her cadet appointment, I'm hosting it at my command, and as many folks as we could get to make it will be there. The world may be going to hell around us, but every now and then you get a glimpse of what could be a bright future for your kids, and it makes you feel like maybe something you did or said (or didn't get in the way of more likely) can really change things for the better. Now if I can pull it off without choking up too bad, I'll be really happy.
