We shoot 100 yards off the highway, 20 yards out the back door. We shoot clay pigeons there as well. Last week we thought we would get a visit. A county cop and a state cruised by while we were blasting. Thought they would at least stop and inquire. But they didn't. Guess they figured we were just dumb red necks :D(they would be right)

Now we can see up the highway in one direction and if we see someone coming, we will wait until they pass. But we can only see a few yards the other way. Now and again an unsuspecting motorist will drive by about the time the pigeons fly ;D I have lived out here for 19 years so most folks around here know we are not shooting each other, and they dont mind.

In NY State it is 500 feet from a dwelling or farm building Unless you own or lease it. If not you need the owners permission. The rule book says this is to discharge a firearm. Don't recall you saying what state or how far away your neighbors are.

I'm in nj at the 100yd mark I'm about 600ft. At the 30yd mark were 450 ft away so I think at the 100yd mark well be far enough away

You have me confused ???. In this state it is how far away YOU are from a dwelling. Not how far away your target is.

Standing 100yds from the target we have a stationary target and we move closer or farther from it depending what were shootin I'll measure the range later and see exactly how far
