Tell the CEO
« on: February 20, 2010, 05:54:13 PM »
I have been emailing Ruger daily and have been for the last 2 and a half months. Giving them my idea for a semi new idea. Everyday I send them the following message.

Bring back the .357 Maximum Blackhawk, and offer it with the Hunter style barrel.

They have all of the tooling to do this.

But im just a punk 25 year old with crazy dreams and maybe a little to much dedication. What do you think?

It lost money for them the first time around, why would they want to do it over again?

SSSHHHHH!!! Don't disturb Ruger now! After 10 + YEARS of suggestions and prayers behind the scenes, they are going to bring back a virtual 32-20, a "327 maximum". Just change that one little number and you have it. The 357 max  advantage was a 180 gr bullet at relatively high speed for a revolver, that can be duplicated by a light 44 mag load. They are on a roll for a change, let them go with it.

I doubt you're going to do much by sending them the same message over and over again.  As someone who has admined an email server in the past, after the 5th or 6th day I can say you'd probably end up with a message filter written to filter out your messages :).

Evidently repetition here as well.  ::)  http://www.gboreloaded.com/forums/index.php/topic,200454.0.html

I was thinking the same as above earlier.  Good chance you're messages are now "spam" as far as their filter is concerned.

Ok so maybe I don't need to send the same email every day. But what does it matter if I posted the same thing in two different places? This pertains to Rugers and Single Actions, I thought I would try and get a broader spectrum of comments and/or answers by posting in multiple places

In the past Ruger HAS listened to their customers, It ,of course, is not like that any more. While they may listen, they will not act, as they know better. Your wanting them to reinstate the 357 Max. is a far fetched one for sure, But hey, if you gotta dream, go for it. Not being critical of you jumpsteady, as I dream of such things all the time. From just sitting back and coming to my own conclusions, I would say the only way to at least have a chance would to persuade some distributer to pony up the dough for a distributer exclusive, i.e. the 44 special. That would mean a demand, I don't think the 357 max. is in all that big of demand. That, and the fact that a reason Ruger pulled that firearm to begin with was, because they felt they had Liability issue with the flame cutting on the top strap. Another point, If I am not mistaken, that the cartridge was brought out, is because they felt it had a promising future in silhouette competition. When was the last silhouette match you attended or heard of? Now the niche would be hunting and there really is no advantage in using a 357 max. There are trends and I think the trend still favors big bore sixguns. Heck, it seems the 5-shot 45 Colt is now bouncing of the big grizzlies we all have on our lower 48, back 40 hunting grounds. But hey, keep it going, your persistence may pay off. Good Luck  ;) CRASH87

Part of the reason tht I have been asking for them is for a big bore 5 shot. Any of the custom wheel gun guys will build you a wicked big bore, such as a .445 Supermag, .475 linebaugh Maximum, .500 Linebaugh Maxmum, .375 GNR, or the .41 #2 GNR. Just about anything you could ever dream up could be put into the Maximum frame. I shoot a .357 max and would love to have a wheel gun to go with my contender, but I would also like to have a .445 Supermag Blackawk with a Bisley gripframe, trigger, and hammer. And a maximum frame is the only way to do it.

They are put there and not exactly difficult to find.  If it's important enough the costs should be too much of an issue, especially if one's thinking chambering conversion.

I'd rather see ruger make a  30 carbine but maybe chamber it in 357, kinda like their deerslayer. instead of being yet another gun manufacturer making an ar

If Ruger's CEO happens to Google this thread,

- Thank you for the 2 new offerings in .327.
- How about carbines in .357 and .327 to go along with your handguns?
- How about a single "six" with a higher capacity cylinder? I'm willing to accept that you might not be able to time a 22mag cylinder to it for conversion.
- Please don't feel the need to compete in the plastic gun arena. You're offerings in wood and steel have a reputation of being bank vault strong and we like it that way.
