Graybeard decided to close the forum because it had attracted too many greedy people that were grabbing up more than their fare share of the offers.  Then after rules were put in place to try to control the 'grabbing', some still didn't read the rules or either just chose to ignore them.

Bill asked over and over to be left out But I guess
The Lib's crying wasn't heard so they brought him into it

Bummer.
I stand behind GB and his decisions and regret how the actions of a few can have a detrimental effect on the rest.

You could just post stuff free on the classifieds if you feel you've been blessed and want to pay it forward. Leave it for the taker to man up or not, but no moderation necessary for that.

I mostly used it to get rid of stuff to someone who could use it and didn't care if they paid up in return. Since I'm in the far far west I'm used to being too late to get the good stuff so I could live with it. I wish it continued as once in a while there was something I wanted too. Like  another said, guess I can offer up free stuff on the other classifieds. And if someone else does likewise, I'll have a chance to get it. Seemed like the PIF squabbles were over blown and I stayed out of them.

Thanks for the info.
I have done what you suggest on other boards - given or swapped various items not needed or just gave things away without charging. Some paid for postage. Some have swapped items not needed or things that they themselves have crafted.

And rightfully so, I might add. I have seen a lot of members get the axe in my short six years here and held my breath for others ;D

It is really quite simple...(What don't you understand about following the rules?)...This is the first time (I think) that I have seen an entire forum taken out for the said reasons but realize that it is for the best considering the common sense and honesty that the Boss demonstrates.
