45/70 340gr with 2400

Anyone have any data on loading this bullet with 2400? the reason I asked is that I have a good bit of this powder on hand, and I used to use it in my 45/70 but I cant find my records. If someone has a load using a different powder I would appreciate it, my next moulds will get progressivly heavier-405gr-500gr, thanks....steg

i shot alot of 405s with 20 grains and it was a mild load so im sure you could start at about 22 grains with your lighter bullet.

I use 25/2400 with the 400s, shoots great in trapdoors, martinis, levers, bolts, H&Rs, velocity about the same as factory 405 gr. ,1350 to 1400 fps.

I use 28.0 of 2400 with a 350gr RD bullet and 27.0 with a 425gr RD bullet. Both loads are very accurate and recoil in very manageable.

If I agreed with you then we would both be wrong.
