id say the leftovers  will work fine. i wouldnt use the feathers tho, any exposed feathers or fur always seems to draw hawks and owls here in mo where i trap.

There are better coon baits than pheasant--before you use it,check on the legalities. Some states do not allow the use of game animal or bird parts.
Just make sure you use as you plan,in a buckets or dirt hole, or cover with vegetation--this will keep you from getting in trouble with exposed baits.

feathers and wings are just the ticket for most predators-

if legal, a wing hanging from a branch, is a great bobcat attractor, with a dirthole set underneath, snaresi n the trails as well if legal

scattered feathers are an attractant for anything- and are legal in most states under the exposed bait laws. Scatter a few down type feathers in the grass around the set- and any natural bird kills i find, i set up a canine set at or near it- its both a visual and a smell attractant

as Bog says better lures, but natural edible baits if legal are underrated and can be very productive-
