CCW Rubber Grip intell
« on: March 06, 2010, 09:58:11 PM »
Those of us who carry concealed for a reason have an excellent update on a rubber grip posted on the Kel-Tec Range website.  It explains the use of bicycle innertube, gives a pattern and a size for a small weapon like a Kel-Tec 9mm or Ruger LCP.  Larger weapons like Glock 22s and 21s will need large tubes. ( Note to the people who give trail lawyers a reason to live-Don't use this idea on something with a grip safety!) I've used this idea on a Glock 22 and 21 for years with great success.

Actually, a number of people use this method on a 1911, or something simular, like pinning or disabeling---one used a rawhide string.
I have mine fixed so they are very light.
Now, if you have big mitts it is a good way to get a bigger grip.
Skateboard tape is good as a retention device.
I don't have much problem with retention but I do like checkering on the front strap.
I do like grips that have texture.
On a Kel-Tec I would suspect it is a good idea.
Blessings

I guess that works out pretty much like the Hogue slip-on sleeves, but cheaper.

 ;) ;) ;)
